This presentation will center two topics: As the United States and the entire global capitalist system faces multiple compounding and cascading existential crises, many in the U.S. are asking "does it have to be this way?" and "is a better future possible?" Revolutionary socialists say no, it doesn’t have to be this way and a better future is possible, but only through a socialist transformation of society can we solve these crises. Furthermore, these crises require the working class, the vast majority in this country and the world over, to organize itself into a political party to win the battle for democracy and defeat the ultra-wealthy tiny clique of capitalists that run our government and economy. This presentation will speak to the essential premise of the book “Socialist Reconstruction: A Better Future for the United States” and explain why the Party for Socialism and Liberation published this text.
