Through funding from the Department of Education, the Democracy and Public Policy Network at BGSU created learning communities among K-12 educators across the region to develop and strengthen American history and civics education. Each year a cohort of educators received year-long training and gained expert insight from BGSU faculty.
This collection is aimed to provide resources for K-12 Teachers in Civics and American History education. Resources include: the network’s podcast, “Democracy Exchange With the DePo,” its Explainer video series, “DePo Explains,” public opinion polls conducted by BGSU faculty, and recordings of speakers, panelists, and public events related to the CIVICS 250 program. Additionally, members of our cohorts have curated lessons and unit plans that are available to use in K-12 classrooms.
