Media Company Leader Presentations

The media company leader presentation is an assignment I’ve used for 18 years in teaching media management. It helps students to practice their presentation skills while researching about a company leader of their interest to apply the management skills we taught in class with a real-life successful leader. There are two parts to this assignment: a research paper and a PowerPoint presentation. I found students are quite creative in their use of the PowerPoint. Inspired by SlideShare, I think other students and researchers studying media industries or media management and applicants of jobs in those companies will find learning about these leaders beneficial. I decided to compile them and make them available to the public.

In the presentations, you will see the background and biography of these leaders, their management philosophy, their media business model and leadership style, as well as their career milestones at a glance. You can search by the leader’s last name, company name, and media industry (e.g., advertising, television, online, media conglomerates). We removed copyrighted images from presentations in cases where students couldn’t secure permissions.

This collection is a selection of the most recent presentations and a few better ones from the past. Because we have to obtain students’ permissions to post these presentations, this is not a complete list. But I hope you will find them useful in your research for media company careers, media management issues, business models and media leadership style in different media industries from offline to online media.
