My work draws on the powerful early sensations and visual excitement of childhood, from the rituals and myths of people magically connected to their surroundings. -Marilene Phipps
I have been away from Jamaica intermittently during the past few years, but I know that my work is inspired by Jamaica. I know that this inspiration is grounded in the realities of its places and people and in their spiritual, as well as material, heritage. -Loma Goodison
