Abstract

In The Round is a speaker series presenting Native American Creatives that reflect the art domains at BGSU: Creative Writing, Theater, Film, Music, Design, and Art. The design work for this series includes 8 posters, digital screen designs, thank you cards, special edition enamel pins, stickers, invites, and a design award-winning Instagram account: intheroundbg. The social media was recognized with a Certificate of Excellence by GD USA (Graphic Design USA), a national design magazine, and an honorable mention from UCDA (University and Colleges Design Association). This work moves BGSU's Land Acknowledgment statement from words into action. The full events series can be viewed on the In The Round website. Jenn Stucker and Heidi Nees are the creators and facilitators of the series. Their work started from receiving the Glanz Family Research Award for Collaborative and Interdisciplinary Faculty. In The Round was made possible by Glanz Family Research Award plus, Jane Labino Black Fund, BGSU President’s Office, Division of Diversity and Belonging, Division of Research and Economic Engagement, University Libraries, College of Arts & Sciences, College of Music, School of Art, School of Cultural and Critical Studies, Institute for the Study of Culture and Society, Department of English, Department of Theater & Film, Division of Graphic Design, Arts Village, ECAP, Wood County Public Library, and the Mazza Museum.
