Investigating Musical Behaviors in the Daily Lives of Children
Abstract
For this project, the author explored music in the daily lives of the children at the Early Start Preschool. The author was guided by the following research questions: What kinds of musical behaviors do preschool children exhibit? What kinds of musical behaviors do the preschool age children in this study exhibit during the weekly music class? Do these children exhibit musical behaviors outside of the weekly music class? If so, what musical behaviors do they exhibit? What kinds of music (if any) do the children experience while learning in their normal school environment?
