Creating a Connection Through Dance

Abstract

Through the art of dance, I was able to portray a story of deep connection with another person. This dance incorporates gender studies, education, and communication in order to create a diverse and intersectional performance. Throughout my research, I was able to find techniques, movements and other key elements of dance that allowed me to create a dance, teach it to an organization and perform it at a showcase. This project explores sexuality and connection through an art form that relies heavily on connection and passion; two important elements of any deeper relationship.
