Abstract

SOCCER-SPECIFIC STADIUM AND ITS SOCIAL IMPACT: A PARALLEL LINE BETWEEN MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER AND THE NIGERIAN PROFESSIONAL SOCCER LEAGUES

Professional leagues, teams, or sporting events worldwide try to leverage their brands by using their sports venues (Tu, 2005; Carlino & Coulson, 2004). Therefore, stadium structuring, location, and management are crucial to the surrounding environment’s economy and the team that utilizes it, which can ultimately translate into a significant accomplishment for the local government (Chema, 1996; Nelson, 2001, 2002). Therefore, various factors must be considered when constructing a stadium, including its location, size, design, and management.
